Chef Audee Cheah is an internationally award-winning chef with over 40 years of culinary and hospitality experience, currently serving as the President of the Penang Chefs Association. Throughout his distinguished career, he has worked in various star-rated hotels and renowned restaurants, developing strong classical Western culinary foundations while skillfully incorporating his rich Asian heritage into his creations.
Specializing in European, Chinese, Malay, Nyonya, Thai, and other Asian cuisines, Chef Audee is known for his versatility, creativity, and technical excellence. His ability to blend traditional flavors with modern culinary techniques has positioned him as a respected figure in Malaysia’s hospitality industry and on the international culinary stage.
In 2017, Chef Audee was honoured with the World Chefs Continental Director Award, presented by Dr. Rick Stephen, recognizing his leadership and significant contributions to the global culinary fraternity.
In recognition of his exemplary service and unwavering dedication to the industry, Chef Audee was conferred the distinguished Darjah Johan Negeri (DJN), Order of the Defender of the State Medal, in conjunction with the 84th Birthday Celebration of the Governor of Penang, Tun Ramli Ngah Talib.
Earlier, he received the Pingat Kelakuan Terpuji (PKT) in 2017 during the 79th Birthday Celebration of the Penang State Governor, and the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK) in 2010 in conjunction with the Governor’s 72nd Birthday. These prestigious state honours reflect his outstanding contributions and long-standing commitment to advancing Malaysia’s culinary and hospitality industry.
Among his professional accolades, Chef Audee was named Chef of the Year 2004 by the Chefs Association of Malaysia (Penang Chapter) and Chef of the Year 2015 by the Penang Chefs Association. On the international competition stage, he led his team to achieve Overall Champion at the 3rd Thailand Culinary World Challenge 2015, and secured Second Runner-Up at the Taiwan TCAC Culinary Challenge 2016, demonstrating his strong leadership and competitive excellence.

A certified international judge under the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS), Chef Audee is deeply committed to mentoring young chefs and fostering industry collaboration. Inspired by culinary greats such as Charlie Trotter, Thomas Keller, and Adrian Ferrera, he continues to work closely with government bodies, NGOs, and culinary institutions to elevate professional standards and strengthen Malaysia’s catering and restaurant industry both locally and globally.
